Copan signs agreement with CIA-linked firm

LONGMONT — Data-storage company Copan Systems has found a partner that will help it tap even further into the potentially large and lucrative field of national security.
The company on Tuesday announced a business development agreement with Arlington, Va.-based In-Q-Tel, a nonprofit that connects technology companies with national security organizations such as the CIA.
The CIA launched In-Q-Tel in 1999 to get around bureaucratic red tape of government contracts.
The company has made sales to other government agencies, but until recently, the intelligence community had been a tough one to break into, said Mark Pougnet, Copan’s chief financial officer ...
