For those who don't know, the
Occupation Project is a campaign of sustained non-violent civil disobedience aimed at bringing an end to the Iraq War and preventing an attack on Iran. Protests such as these can hardly be more important than now, when we're on the verge of turning the tide and forcing Bush to bring the troops home. Intense pressure on our Congressmen, especially fence-sitters like Senator Salazar, can turn them our way and bring the war to a swifter end.
I was personally disappointed that there wasn't local Occupation Project events in Colorado until now. The
Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center has now joined the Occupation Project, and will be holding regular events, many at the offices of our esteemed Congresscritters. According to the web site, most of the events will not involve civil disobedience, though some will.
Anyways, I'm signing up.
