| I'm thinking of getting a mail subscription to The Hartford Courant, is it any good? |

Well CT i'm not sure if you know all this the paper I read daily, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette is on the verge of closing down forever leaving me without a liberal newspaper and no alternative. So I was thinking of getting a mail subscription to the Courant cause 1. I think Hartford in general is a great and intresting place I mean come on the city had the Whalers for 20 years and 2. there editorial section takes a center approach to politics which is something I like.
So Hartford what do you think?

...on line. I read some 8 or 10 newspapers every day in their on-line versions. http://www.courant.com/

| 2. Ah... well, there's not a lot of choice. |

It's still the paper of record among CT papers, really. The others are far smaller and more local.
But especially since it became part of the Tribune company, the quality has been disintegrating. They cover less and less, and cut corners everywhere. This results in an increasingly less valuable paper.
Their editorial page could not be called "liberal". They're more about loving the status quo, I think.
I still subscribe, but it's harder and harder to convince my husband that it's worth it. I feel for work that I need to stay on top of local Hartford happenings, and that's the major reason I read it.
