| Book volunteer comedy improvisers for election week! |
|
Greetings from New Orleans! My name is Arthur Simone, a local actor, comedian, Democrat, and Kerry supporter intent on volunteering my time and energy in Florida the week before the presidential election.
I am organizing a team of 4-6 like-minded emerging comedians that will take an informal USO-like tour of your state, performing for local campaign volunteer meetings to entertain and keep morale high. Our improvised show-tentatively called "Chad on a Hot Tin Roof"-will consist of short-form games, similar to the TV show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and long-form scenework, practiced by groups such as the Upright Citizens Brigade. Shows traditionally consist of two thirty minute sets with a short intermission.
I have been in touch with the Florida Democratic Party and Young Democrat Chapters, creating a schedule of performances and rallies between October 27 and November 2 for student organizations, community groups, and other gatherings of in-state and out-of-state volunteers of all ages. Our performances will be free of charge for as many people as our hosts see fit, but we require help from anyone interested in reserving space and letting local people know about our show! Appropriate performance spaces can range anywhere from theaters to bars to church fellowship halls.
We would also appreciate contact with local Kerry supporters who could offer us a night of lodging on whenever we happen to be in the area. Hopefully we will have a confirmed schedule by mid-October.
Please message me or reply on this thread if you're interested in booking us for a show, rally, or informal public performance. I will be happy to provide you with any more information about our performers that you may require.
Hope to hear from you!
