Voter registration deadline Tuesday

Tuesday is the last day for Georgia residents to register to vote for the Nov. 7 general election.

People can register at the Office of Elections and Registrations in the Columbus Government Center's West Wing, or at any library, most CB&T banks and the Department of Driver Services when renewing a driver's license. They can also download and print a registration application from www.columbusga.org/elections.

Applications must be postmarked no later than today in order to vote on Nov. 7.

Georgia voters will determine their next governor and lieutenant governor as well as a host of state senators and representatives. Across the country, voters will choose the next Congress.
