I suggest the Decatur area. Inside the city limits are pricey but prices have dropped off lately and there are still plenty of affordable homes just outside the city limits. Lots of nice Liberals are in Decatur. It's close in with transportation links being very convenient.

By all means Dawg,check out this part of town.
Gwinnet is freeper hell.You will be much more comfortable intown.Plus the commute will be easier from intown.You would be going AGAINST the flow of traffic.
