| DU Updates for September 23-24th and the Protest |
|
Jimmy Jazz and I just returned from DC and I have some locations for where we'll be meeting.
There will be a pre-breakfast at Cosi located at 3rd & Pennsylvania Avenue from 9:30-10:30. The place is giant in size and it's sorta come when you want, grab a bite to eat, hang out and then we'll walk over to the Protest together around 10:30 (or take the metro - it is about a 15 block walk). If it's nice I'll try to be outside enjoying a bagal & hot cup of green tea.
COSI Capitol Hill * 301 Pennsylvania Ave., S.E. Washington D.C. 20003 phone: 202.546.3345 fax: 202.546.4856
Protest meeting spot:
This MIGHT change based on additional information I might get back from UPJ, but we'll probably start to gather around 10:30-11:30 at 15th, & Madison Street in the Mall near the Washington Monument. There's a spot across the street from a Souvenior shop where there are plenty of trees and we can all hang out there until 11:30 or so until the march starts. If people want to try and get closer to hear the speakers they can.
Your best bet if you want to ensure you'll be hanging out with DUers is to meet us at one of these 2 spots (btw, I probably won't be at the protest site til closer to 11:30 but when you get to 15th & Madison you'll see the spot I'm talking about). We have a tall Gold/Purple banner left over from the March for Choice that we'll use at the protest.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!!

This gives me an idea where I should get my hotel, or whatever. Don't want to rent a car, just want to get a plane, a taxi to the hotel, a taxi back to the airport, then a plane back home.

| 2. I think you'll be fine in any area of DC as long as you're near a metro |
|
We happen to be staying over at the Capital Hill Suites which is why some of the stuff is in the Cap Hill area. But the Metro is such a great system.
Let me know if you have questions about any of the hotels in DC

Any hotel on the Metro is fine. Crystal City/airport is good. See you there!

Unless it rains, that time of September should be beautiful in DC. Let's keep our fingers crossed for dry weather.
I look forward to meeting you.
