DC is booking up solid that weekend and I'm finding the only thing left is the really high-priced rooms or those really seedy places over on NY Avenue.
Your best bet if you're coming to town and need accomadations and can't afford the expensive stuff is to start looking out in the suburbs.
Places I would look for hotels would include Arlington, Alexandra, Rosslyn, Silver Springs, Crystal City just to name a few.
This is the DC Metro:
http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap.cfmThe number one question you should ask any of the hotels you are considering is this: Is the Metro within walking distance of your hotel? You really don't want to rent a car and you definately do not want to be driving in downtown DC. Washington DC is going to be a sellout that weekend between us and the IMF.
So even if you're still up in the air about attending the protest - RESERVE YOUR HOTEL ROOM. Check with the website because most SHOULD just be a 24-72 cancellation policy however some websites might charge you so avoid those.
