| See 'BUSHWA, A Modern Ubu' at Arts on Foot, Sat, 9/17 |
|
Saturday, September 17th from 1:00-1:30pm at 505 7th Street, NW, FREE!!! The Georgetown Theatre Company will present scenes from award-winning playwright John Morogiello's BUSHWA, A Modern Ubu. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT BUSHWA: Morogiello has adapted Alfred Jarry's UBU ROI, transplanting it to the fictional (?) American Sovereign States and naming the infantile, selfish and cowardly ruler "Y". If you thought UBU ROI was completely unrealistic and weird, just check out the parallels with recent history. See UBU ROI as "biography"! See Art, setting life straight! See "43" roasted to a "T" in John Morogiello's BUSHWA, A Modern Ubu! BUSHWA was the hit of the 2004 Kennedy Center Page to Stage Festival and The Georgetown Theatre Company hopes to present a full production as part of the 2006 Capitol Fringe Festival.
