Do the museums and other events on the Mall lockdown

for major political citizen events ? I mean, I'm really hoping a million people show up for Sept 24, but I planned to do other touristy things during the 4 days I'm there.

What should I prepare for ?

1. They are opened but be prepared for a search

Not that you wouldn't have to if there wasn't a march. But all the touristy places like the Smithoseon have metal detectors and search bags.
