GORE VIDAL
POINT TO POINT NAVIGATION (Doubleday, $26)
Vidal has been a novelist, playwright, essayist, and film critic. In between these ventures, he’s also had time to live a remarkably colorful life that radiates in the retelling. In his earlier Palimpsest, he retraced some of his footsteps, but in this new memoir ranging over the eight decades of his life, he fills in a lot of blanks, and, being Vidal, is also controversial.
Vidal will appear in conversation with Jeffrey Brown, senior correspondent at the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. This is a ticketed event; tickets are $10, or two free with the purchase of the book at P&P. The author will not be signing books after the event, but we will have signed copies available.http://www.politics-prose.com/calendar.htm#n17You can buy the (autographed) book and tickets over the phone and pick them up before the talk. Anybody else plan on going?
