Protest at the National Press Club's "Who Is A Journalist?" panel featuring JeffyLube Gannon. Let people going in know that this is not a fair or unbiased panel and that the problems with Gannon's presence go far beyond what they may have heard from the media.

WHEN:
April 9th starting 8 AM (the panel is at 9:30

WHERE:
National Press Club
529 14th St. NW

WHO:
Folks that don't mind handing out pamphlets. Folks that are willing to stay on message and not make asses of the rest of us ;) Folks that want to go hang out at the street fair afterwards ;)

HOW:
I'll be creating a pamphlet and need your ideas for factoids and resources to include. For drafts and pointers on messaging please see my blog at http://lastmidnight.blogspot.com

You are welcome to bring whatever signage, etc., you wish. I would caution against the use of JeffyLube's nekkid pics (censored or not), "whore" puns, use of the word "gay" unless absolutely necessary (use 'male prostitute,' not 'gay male prostitute'), and anything else that may lower the discourse. I envision a protest in which we are providing much-needed supplementary information that attendees may not be aware of. There's what we need to tell them, and there's what they're willing to hear, and if it gets too raunchy, they may shut our message out as radical/wacko.

That being said, we have freedom of speech so I certainly can't control whatcha all bring, so use your judgment.

PLEASE check the blog above and submit your comments for the pamphlet. A rough layout will be posted tonight. Please also RESPOND to this post if you plan to attend. If I don't know for sure that I won't be alone out there, it'll be difficult for me to wake up on time. :)
