A Call to Action, re: 1260 AM

Ok my fellow DC/MD/VA folks. I am wondering if I can urge you all to join me in writing to 1260 AM regarding their programming. Here are my issues with 1260 AM:

-- I think they need to stop carrying Don Imus, and carry Morning Sedition. Since when is Don Imus considered a progressive?

-- I also think they need to stop carrying the Ed Shultz show, and carry all of the Randi Rhodes show.

-- I am really irritated when they stop the progressive talk, and carry the Wizards games, and the baseball games. I want 24/7 progressive talk, from a progressive talk station.

1. The per-minute...

...for an ad on the baseball games could be three or four times the per-minute on any other show.

It's paying the rent.

2. I'm sure you are right, but...

My problem is that we have more than enough sports stations on AM radio in DC. 1260 now bills itself as a progressive talk station, so I expect 24/7 progressive talk.

It's really annoying when I'm listening to Al Franken, for example, and then they start carrying some Wizards game or something.

3. I agree completely with your programming suggestions.

I can't stand Imus. Shultz's voice drives me nuts and I LOVE Randi.

Sports leave me cold.

I'm hoping that if enough people write to them, they'll take these suggestions seriously.
