This is EST in Jefferson county. I have been so consumed with the big national fights that I haven't a clue about Mar. 21. Help me out, please. Total neophyte on state politics.
I think I know whom to favor for gov, but I'm more familiar with the Duckworth/Cegelis thing than with my own territory.
Can anyone help me out?

2. I'm in district 19- Idiot Shimkus as nat'l rep.

See Mt Vernon-about 80 miles east of St. Louis on rt 64. I'm actually a bit north of there-very rural.

3. You have two Democrats running for Congress.

One is Vic Roberts. He's a nice old man who wears a coal miners hat. He says good stuff for a while and you want to like him until he starts talking about the World Bank Conspiracy and the Queen. He's a LaRouchie.

The other Democratic candidate for Congress is Dan Stover. He's a city council member from Centralia and a community college professor. I haven't met him yet, but everyone I've talked to that has heard him speak is very impressed by him.

There's a thread about the State Treasurer's race. Alexi Giannoulias is from Chicago and is backed by Barack Obama. Mangieri is a three time loser from Knox County and is backed by Mike Madigan and the Democratic Party of Illinois. Mangieri is a token downstater and in my opinion, being from downstate is really the only thing he has going for him.
