| Keyes is an extremely unpleasant person |
|
I can hardly believe he's a politician.
Last night on "Chicago Tonight" he was the biggest prick to Elizabeth Brackett. She was conducting the interview in a normal way, but Keyes was acting as if she was harrassing him. Instead of politely saying, "let me finish please" like you often see politicians do, he just threw up the palm of his hands into her face, as if to say "shut the fuck up, bitch." He did this through the whole interview.
Not a bit of warmth, or even humanity, in his manner.
And he made numerous references to Lincoln, as if that's going to make people forget he's not from IL.

HE came off as sanctimonious, pontificating, abrasive and arrogant. JUST my kind of Repug. I am thinking he'll be the pig-in-a-minefield that Joseph McCarthy was. He will dredge up stuff and generate slime - but its just to run a negative campaign. What will he bring to a debate that is constructive?

You know, the fetus people who hate all human life as soon as it's born. They know those folks will just stay home if Obama is unopposed and Bush is at the head of the ticket. Keyes is out there spitting vomit all over the place to persuade those good "Christians" to get out and vote against the evil liberals.
They know it's a losing proposition. They just don't want the faithful to get too comfy not voting at all.

They often seem to be willing to spend it. Did you hear Michial comments about HATEtriots ? Them may be in a minority but can always be counted on to come out of the woodwork when the right belwether appears.
I don't know if this fool honestly beleives his own invective but its a good racket in order to cash in.

You know you'll always find some by suscribing to these negative obsessions. If he does believe in a life after this one, I am wondering where he will end up. I never liked him.

| 2. I've no doubt Keyes is being paid handsomely to do this |
|
I'd guess in at least the $250K range since he paid his self $100K out of contributions to run for president. However, I wouldn't be surprised to find out he's being paid at least $1 million. That's walking around money for much of the GOP.

I hope IL voters protest them bringing this ugliness to this race, by voting out Hastert, Hyde, LaHood, et al.

| 14. if someone could dig up the financial traits he's in |
|
as a result of his past failed attempts at public higher office, and out him as the 'ho' he is for the rethugs pimping him--and effectively use that to hammer him, that would be cool. Hell, paint his as a man who cannot even live by his own declarations--doubleminded in all his ways.
But that is negative campaigning and I doubt Obama's willing to, or should, lower himself to wade into the offal just because Keyes hasn't the moral integrity to rise up out of it.
The further down this path keyes goes with this campaign, the more he should be hit with his financial status--and how that will reflect that he doesn't know how to manage money, he has no clear cut plan for once he's in office to address the concerns of the average Illini.
"Mr. Keyes, what plan of solution do you have to strengthen the economic infrastructure of Illinois if you're elected its Senator?"
"OBAMA'S A SLAVEHOLDA!!! OBAMA'S A SLAVEHOLDA!!! HE'S SCARED OF ME!! HE'S AN ABORTIONIST!!! I AM GOD!!!! I AM GOD!!! I SPEAK TO DUBYA EVERY MORNING!!!!"
that's their wedge candidate

Couldn't agree more. He was rude, extremely agitated and irritating. In one fell swoop he turned off ANY and ALL who might've been viewing with an open mind. Also, I can't even begin to imagine how he'll play to the farmers in Illinois. I suspect they'll laugh him back to Maryland.

| 11. This Dude Doesn't Know The Chicago Media |
|
He's used to the red carpet at Faux & CNNservative. Welcome to Chicago, Mr. Keyes.
Just when you didn't think things could get better this guy opens his huge pie hole and digs the the hole deeper. This may play great on Hannity, but the local media here will chew it apart.
Initially, I wanted Obama to debate Keyes, now I say why bother. Keyes should just keep talking and pissing more people off.
I was listening to Cliff Kelly on WVON and the anger from his callers was incredible. Many feel this is a real slap at African-Americans by the GOOP by running this "Uncle Tom" (and that term was used repeatedly).
The GOOP is gonna pay dearly for this stupid move. But in the meantime, keep yapping Alan...the Illinois media and electorate are gonna tear you and your pompous arrogance apart.

I cannot get any of the African American radio stations out here. I have been wondering how the African American community in Chicago is reacting to Keyes.
I suspected there would be anger, since Obama is so well liked, and has such real leadership ability.
Has he interviewed on any other African American programs?
It is a slap at the African American community! Anyone can see that, whatever their skin color! This was a calculated slap, and should make everyone mad as hell.

| 13. Keyes is the face of the mainstream Republican party |
|
this has to be hammered home over and over.
The repugs have allowed their party to be hijacked and steered to the right. They invited divisiveness into their party when they allowed televangelists to weigh in and obfuscate the separation of religion and politics. They have no one to blame but themselves for allowing this development to even take root in their party.
The ultra religious right wing of the repug party is about dividing this country into those with rights and those who they deem not to be worthy of rights or constitutional protection. They will divide their own party if it means getting their way and shoving it down the throats of every citizen of this country.
