| Do you know of any businesses that will leave Illinois because of the tax increase? |
|
Just like with Oregon, after the voters approved two tax increases, We were all warned that if they passed there would be a mass exodus of businesses out of Oregon. I have seen no evidence that that took place.
Any word on the ground if there will be a mass exodus of businesses out of Illinois?
The thing is, it is expensive to relocate your business to another state. Physical moving costs, new start up costs (like say an activation fee to have the electricity turned on), possibly new licenses, new permits. That all may cost you more than any savings you would get from the lower taxes.

| 1. The tax increases should have included a higher deductible or prop tax reduction |
|
But there is likely to be more jobs in government retained due to the increase then lost through any such desertion of IL.

Can't understand why any sane millionaire would want to live here anyway, at least during the winter. I hope he is kind enough to offer to relocate his 100 corporate employees to Florida too.
