I'm all the way down here in Bloomington. I guess the DFA meetup will suffice. I just like DUers so much, and I've never met any in real life. Have fun, and don't drink too much. ;)

3. find a way to get up here for a meeting sometime

it is so validating.

Note that I tend to spend my weekends in my hometown (your city), but spend the weeks up here in Indy. Politically I am much more tied to B-ton than to Indy - but am trying to get up to speed.

On the national level, perhaps. And per B-ton, certainly. But I miss a whole lot per the local Indy (and much state) politics. Completely missed the "ouster" on the City Council of a long-time connected older dem. Still don't know much about the dynamics on that one... Oh so much to learn... and I know just where to go to start get a better sense of things! :D :hi:

13. Is anyone coming from North of Indianapolis?

I would really like to meet you all, but I'm driving my great-grandfather's car, and it's a bit touchy about distances, and I have to drive to IND tomorrow as it is. (Too bad this one wasn't a Wednesday!)

I'll happily pitch in for gas and buy a beer or something and meet you if you're in the area. I'm in Greentown, but can easily get to Kokomo, Gas City or Marion, and other similar locations with only a Mapquesting (since I am not a local most of the time.)

18. No, as is obvious, but that's okay!

I would have loved to meet you all, but I'll schedule my schedule to come out in Sept-Oct to be at the meeting then. If grandpa is still kicking (and good Dem that he is, he probably will be; how can one die with this much to be up in arms about??) I'm coming out to winterize and I'll probably rent a car instead of relying on his.

Anecdotally, the good Dem that he is, he's taken to believing that President Roosevelt and President Clinton (he does not acknowledge *, and won't even eat Bush Baked Beans) are coming to visit. His mind wanders a bit....

and hoping that you might wander in, and that you hadn't gotten caught in what can be dreadful traffic coming south between Kokomo and Indy. Sorry that you couldn't join us, but am looking forward to seeing out at one of the fall meetings. Ah, but what a nice thought... to be able to visit with Roosevelt and Clinton... must be a little joy in that space when his mind is wandering...
