KC meetup this Wed.

In March, evlbstrd will be hosting our meetup at his house on St. Patty's Day. Evl has generously offered to BBQ and we are asking for potluck. But please, come even if you can't bring potluck. There is surely going to be plenty of food. If you need more info (like an address) PM either evl or me.

I am sending out a special invitation to any DUers who have not yet joined us at a meetup. We are an incredibly fun group of folks and you are guaranteed a good time. In looking at the other state forums here, it would appear that we are one of the more active groups. So come to The Flea on Wed. Look for evlbstrd. (evl, post your picture please) I will roll in around 8:00.

1. Have fun!

I am sick of having to say have fun! Darned rehearsals.

Anyone want to come to Topeka this Saturday night for a fun pops concert? We are doing Cartoon Classics and will be showing cartoons and playing the music.

OK, I might be able to make it to evlbstrd's meetup party! That sounds like a great time. I would like to add to any who have not been with this group they are a blast, I'm series!!11! It is HUGH!!11!!

2. We need to change our schedule

Comer has class and several others are booked on Wednesdays too. I didn't want to change this month since it is posted on the DU home page. That was a struggle - long story :(

Anyway, I figure we do St. Pat's for March and maybe we can discuss a different evening for April then. We did decide to go to The Peanut in April. It is a neat little bar at 50th and Main - just south of The Plaza. But we have yet to set a date.

This Sat, Rex is having a bonfire at his place in Lawrence. We are going to burn freepers - after marshmallows. :) I am sorry to see you have a concert that night. And it sounds like a fun one. :cry:

I'll bet I can get to 50th and Main a lot easier than trying to deal with Southwest Trafficway, I HATE driving on it for some reason, maybe that big old truck. It just feels cramped and creepy and I never know what I am doing on it as it gets closer to Westport.

I can find the Plaza without a problem and UMKC and Benjamin's apartment, all are close to 50th and Main (I think) so I should be good with that.

5. The trafficway is really the easiest route to The Plaza

and Westport. But you can also take the Broadway exit off of I-670, go south and turn left to Main as soon as you can (Main is one main street east of Broadway - but you can't turn left at every intersection) and follow Main past The Plaza to 50th.

6. I always take

18th street expressway, I find it easy since I know it then I exit on Shawnee Mission Parkway. :shrug: Been doing it that way for years since my loved one's Dad lived at the Sulgrave. That is about the only way I know to get to anywhere. Habit I guess.

Last time I told everyone about one of Rex's bonfires I didn't know that there would be a detour on the road I suggested everyone to take. If you're interested I can send you or Comer the address and you can mapquest or yahoo it.
