I adore New Orleans. It's truly one of the great cities of the world,and I've seen a lot of them. Nowhere in the world was I treated better than in New Orleans. Beautiful people, beautiful city, beautiful culture, beautiful history.

To me, this is a slow-motion heartbreak. Please stay safe. Your city and your safety will be on my mind for the next few days. I'm not a religious person, but I sincerely pray for something to happen that diminishes this storm.

If you're reading this now, stop. Turn off the computer and focus on your own safety and survival.
