If you decide that rebuilding your life in NO is just too much to deal with, Austin is a little haven of "blueness" in an otherwise red state. We have a great music scene and because of low interest rates and relatively affordable housing, there's a lot of vacant rental property. You can't come today, but I should have a room cleared this weekend for anyone that needs a temporary place to live. I have a small yard for pets too.
