1. I'm on the same boat
My best friend lives in the Bywater, can't reach him at all. Plus he owns a restaurant on Frenchmen so I fear he wanted to stay there to tend to it if there was damage.
I heard the Bywater is flooded but not as bad as the 9th ward (which is extreme as we all know)

2. Thank you please keep in touch with me!! PM me with news and
I will do the same for you.

How deep was the flooding in the Bywater. I lived on Desire 3 blocks from the river. I fear my cats are still there. Do you think they drowned?

4. somebody told me
they had heard the bywater area isn't as flooded (thankfully, if I can even say that). "To the curb" was her expression. I'm a bit more concerned about the looting going on in the area...

I have a blog you can check out. I post the latest news I can find there (mostly from local sources)

http://neworleans.mindsay.com

there's wwlt.com too you can check as well as nola.com

I went to Cafe Brazil several times. I mourn the city, and the Marigny was one of my favorite hang outs. with you.

It was like nowhere else, and it kills me to even imagine it'll never be the same again.
