Like mbna and others before them tax breaks have given companies a chance to prosper. the problem is many of these companies close their doors before the area breaks even on the tax break. If augusta took a good look at the bottled water industry and charged a usage tax I believe more jobs could be created, better control could be used on the aquifers and we all would benefit. for instance any bulk load that leaves the state like a tanker truck should have the highest tax levied on it.(reason, like raw lumber jobs are leaving the state) millions of gallons are leaving the state daily with nothing returned to the people. this money could be dedicated to debt pay off. and they will leave or sell out once the wells start drying up.
