Democrat Adam Cote, 34, a Portland lawyer, said he would bring real-world experience to a Congress whose members often learn their lessons in a conference room.
“I think if you’re looking to elect somebody to Congress who’s going to make a difference early, I’m the guy,” Cote said.
He joins a crowded field to succeed Democratic Rep. Tom Allen, who is challenging Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Allen will leave after having served 12 years.
