I went to O'Malley's fundraising party yesterday. The place was packed with people from throughout the state. The music was very loud, so at times it was hard to talk to people. I did see some people I know and picked up some important gossip.
Ben Cardin is definitely running for the US Senate and its highly likely that Chris Van Hollen is doing the same. The primaries for the 8th and 3rd CDs should be really amazing to see.
All in all it was a fun event to be at.

Glad you had a good time. With Cardin in the race I will find it difficult to decide between him and Mfume. Don't know much about Van Hollen. Thanks again.

and I have noticed his office is always very prompt with replies to e-mails I send on various issues. He seems to be a good guy, and i would support him.
I don't know much about Van Hollen, but I have noticed he has a lot of support here, so he probably has good liberal credentials.
All in all, I am backing O'malley all the way. he is currently my favorite Maryland politico, and I am convinced he could go all the way to the top of the national Democratic Party, even to the Presidency.
I predict he will run for Pres in 2012 or 2016.

Especially the part about him being a potential national candidate in the out years. He's a charismatic, attractive guy with lifelong political ties and married into a political family.
He is, as they say, born to run.
If our favorite prodigal daughter, Nancy Pelosi, can rise to such national stature, Martin can surely best her.

if he runs again, no one will run against him. He got 75 percent this last election and is very popular.

What's the state of the Bench in Baltimore? Should O'Malley move on, who are the likely successors?

be Sheila Dixon, I think she is probably who O'Malley would support, although that guy that ran against O'Malley in the last Primary - Bundley - might venture into the race again.
