Since I am single, and 53, I am ready to move back up North. My daughter who is in her junior year of college will not be moving back south and I have had my fill of the south as well. Can anyone offer some suggestions?

| 2. I lived in San Diego for a few years...I did not like the earthquakes! |

I am also a history aficionado, so California does not have alot to offer in that arena. I know it must be gorgeous, though. San Diego sure was.

has developed significantly over the last few years, very much for the better, I believe. If you haven't been back for a while, check out booming Bethesda Row and the new developments in Silver Spring.
The downside is that it's gallingly expensive to buy a home...

I grew up in Potomac, and while my folks live in a very modest house for that neck of the woods, you wouldn't believe what it's worth...
It is a nice, booring area. Very sheltered, if you have kids and such.
I love how they're calling Gaithersburg 'North Potomac' now...too funny.
