On all the important things - reprioritizing the budget to show concern for those that have been forgotten and marginalized after 16 years of Republican policies, for balancing the budget without resorting to gimmicks, for not putting even more burdens on cities and towns despite a $1.3 billion dollar
deficit without offering those same cities and towns an option of another way to deal with fiscal matters besides dipping into the well of property tax increases, for being willing to call out those who have the resources to stymie and fight his initiatives (2300 corporations wealthy and big enough enough to skip out on paying their fair share of taxes by employing tax loopholes and shelters)Deval Patrick has been diligent and successful.
But there is a disconnect stylistically in the stories that have been appearing that people will remember far longer than all the good, progressive, things which he and his administration have set as their agenda.

I would hope that the Governor will realize that just as some athletes who are Olde Towne Team favorites have come to realize, that fans and sports writers in Boston take their role seriously(that of following the teams and the athletes), and politics is most definitely the second sport in this area;when we are between seasons in Boston and one team or another is performing dismally politics then takes center stage.
It's his rookie season. His batting average is pretty good, but it could be better and he's been dropping some balls and making some errors.
The good thing is "the season is young" and there is plenty of time to improve things.
