STOUGHTON — Lazy drivers are still stealing specially reserved spaces for kidney dialysis patients at a treatment center despite an Enterprise report on the problem.
A car was caught parked in one of the four spaces outside the entrance to the Goddard Brockton Kidney Center on Sumner Street just hours after an Enterprise story about doctors using the spaces hit the streets.
The driver left the car in the space, ignoring a clear “For Kidney Dialysis Patients Only” sign and an Enterprise vendor box emblazoned with the front-page article next to the building entrance.
An angry George Copeland, 53, who takes his wife, Barbara, 64, for dialysis three times a week, exposed the problem and said he was not surprised by the latest violation.
“It ... hurts the people who need dialysis,” he said.
Copeland, of Crescent Street, Brockton, is armed with warning letters that he slaps on offenders' windshields when he drops his wife off for the four-hour treatment.
