BOSTON — The owner of Michael Bianco Inc., the leather goods and textiles producer
raided by immigration officials Tuesday, was scheduled to travel to Puerto Rico for
business yesterday as part of his release agreement, court documents said. Francesco
Insolia, 50, of 3 Country Club Circle in Pembroke, faces federal charges of conspiring
to hire illegal aliens at Michael Bianco.
The company had millions of dollars worth of contracts to produce military backpacks.
At his arraignment in U.S. District Court Tuesday, Mr. Insolia surrendered his passport
and agreed to restrict his travel to the continental United States, with the provision
that he can make business trips to Puerto Rico.
