21 Mass. students sickened on bus trip

WHITE MARSH, Md. -- Authorities in Maryland say one Massachusetts student was taken to a trauma center and 20 others were taken to area hospitals to be checked out after they became ill on a charter bus.
Baltimore County police Major Ronald Schwartz said last night that the ROTC class from Central High School in Springfield was traveling to Laurel for an ROTC competition.
Fire Battalion Chief Mark Ewers said the bus with 56 people aboard pulled into a gas station after several students complained of headaches and nausea and some vomited.
Officials aren't sure what made the students sick, but Ewers said county commercial vehicle inspectors looked at the bus.
