CITY COUNCIL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON APRIL 17
GLBT voters in District 2 have an opportunity to make a big difference in quality of life for vitally important Boston neighborhoods like the South End, Bay Village, Chinatown, Leather District, part of Dorchester and Downtown by voting Susan Passoni for city council.
Passoni, a former research analyst in investment banking, brings a unique set of qualifications and passion to the plate, resources that would only enhance the council's deliberations over public safety and public schools, as well as a variety of constituent services- everything from potholes to streetlights.
She understands financials and she intends to put that knowledge to work in administering and monitoring properly the flow of revenue in and out of city coffers. Passoni not only will ensure that vital city services are being funded adequately, but also she will seek to fund them more equitably.
Passoni's campaign literature best explains the focus of her competence and vision for Boston. She writes, "I want to take on the real challenges in our community: make our neighborhoods more affordable, our streets safer, and our schools better. In order to make that difference, I need your vote this Tuesday, April 17."
That last line bears repeating. She needs your vote - and the votes of your friends and family and neighbors - to win. The last time out, Passoni garnered 40 percent of the vote against a 22-year incumbent, the late Councilor James M. Kelly.
