Governor's Office released the following in information in regards to the Nor'easter we in MA are currently experiencing:
BOSTON - Sunday, April 15, 2007 - In response to the impending Nor'easter, Governor Patrick activated at 6:00 p.m. this evening the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), located at Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) Headquarters in Framingham. The activation is a preparedness measure in anticipation of the astronomically high tides over the next few days, beginning with Sunday evening.
The Governor activated the SEOC to ensure that state agencies are prepared for any possible requests for support, particularly from communities along the coast and those that have been severely impacted by flooding in the past. While the true strength of the storm and eventual impact on Massachusetts can not be predicted at this time, it is important that the response team is in place to act quickly if communities are in need of assistance.
The press release continues (and has good safety tips contained within as well which we along the coast "below Boston" should pay close attention to)
