BROCKTON — Two city police officers shot a 25-year-old man who began firing gunshots into a crowded parking lot outside Progressions nightclub on Montello Street at closing time early Sunday morning, police said.
Daniel Griffin, a former Brockton resident with a last known address in Plymouth, was taken to a Boston hospital with significant injuries but is expected to survive, Police Chief William Conlon said.
“He was approaching the crowd and he was firing,” Conlon said. “He was definitely armed, shooting and refused to comply with the (police) commands to drop the weapon.”
No other injuries were reported in Sunday's shooting. Griffin was in surgical intensive care with multiple gunshot wounds at a Boston hospital Sunday afternoon, police said. Details of his injuries could not be learned Sunday.
