Parents accused of hosting illicit after-school activity

SCITUATE, Mass. -- A couple is accused of throwing an underage party at their house, and police say that they have the photos to prove it.

Michael and Margaret Cotter are expected to face charges after pictures of a party they threw for their 18-year-old daughter and about 30 of her friends surfaced on Facebook.com. The pictures depict the Cotter's drinking beer with the students. The police were notified of the pictures by other parents.

According to authorities, Margaret Cotter admitted to allowing the teens to drink under her roof, saying that she did the right thing by providing a "safe haven" for adolescences.

As of Wednesday evening, the Cotter's have not been officially charged with any crime. However, they are expected in court next month.
