Anyone going to the Dem Convention in Springfield

I know it's an Issues Con, but I thought we might still have some DU representation.

1. I'm there

FYI, the convention is not in Springfield, but at UMass in Amherst. There's a party Friday night in Springfield. That may have confused you. I'm not going to the party.

Look for me in 3rd Middlesex. I'm 6'5", hair down beyond my shoulders, beard going white. I might be wearing a Kennedy t-shirt.:toast: :hippie: :beer:

2. I'll be there as well

I will be in 2nd Essex. I am a woman, and my hair has gone white...(can ya blame it?)

I will be wearing a navy blue polo type shirt with the democratic donkey logo on the left shoulder.

I likely won't get there until around 9:30, though. We are leaving the North Shore around 7:30, and in the rain....well...with the Pike it probably won't be pretty!

I am in First Middlesex. I don't know what I'll be wearing yet, probably a blue jacket. But I will try and put a DU sticker on my credentials.

I did find DUers last year in Worcester. It wasn't that hard to find people.

4. The Impeachers are coming!

They are going through the steps to get an impeachment resolution before the convention. First step is to collect over 500 signatures from delegates. They will be doing this at the party Friday night at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, meeting at the entrance at 7pm. If you are a delegate, you should rsvp and say you will be coming and bringing a couple of friends (to allow some of the non delegates/impeachers to get in!)
They will be collecting signatures at the door to the Mullin Center UMass very early Sat. morning, catching delegates as they go in beginning at 7:30 A.M.

5. They were there.

I signed at the Hall of Fame. The resolution was, I believe, amended on the floor to say Impeach both Bush and Cheney. It passed.

7. It did feel great

The lady who approached me the Hall of Fame was a little hesitant. (We were early arrivals, so we were one of the first couples she saw that night.) We laughed and told her that she would have no problem getting signatures for this resolution. I passed easily, I think.
