LYNNFIELD, Mass. -- The wife of a long-serving local police and fire chief is suspected of turning job trickery into triple pay.
Reports showed Anne Romano, 55, was compensated for working shifts simultaneously as a police dispatcher, a school crossing guard and an EMT.
Town Counsel Thomas Mullen said the board has been watching Romano's activities since January.
"There were a number of situations where it appeared the chief's wife was receiving multiple payrolls at a single period of time," said Mullen.

Her total earnings of around $106,000 in the last fiscal year came close to her husband's annual $128,000 salary, according to authorities.
