MARBLEHEAD, Mass. -- The head of a charter school in Marblehead has pleaded innocent to a charge that he assaulted a 14-year-old female student.
Thomas Commeret is accused of pushing the girl into a door and threatening her after she allegedly caught him drinking alcohol in his office.
Commeret was released on personal recognizance following his arraignment today in Lynn District Court. Trustees of the Marblehead Community Charter School have placed him on paid leave until the matter is resolved.
Commeret's lawyer, Debra Delvecchio, calls the case against her client "inappropriate" and says the alleged victim changed her story several times.
