BROCKTON— Thieves broke into a Quincy Street bank and stole cash from an ATM, the second robbery of its kind in the city this year.
The robbery at the Community Bank was discovered shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday, when an employee reported for work, authorities said.
Lt. John Crowley, chief of detectives, said investigators believe, based on a preliminary investigation, that thieves disarmed the alarm system to get into the building and then broke into the ATM to steal the cash.

The employee told police it appears there were also attempts to get into the vault.
