"End War Now," one more time

On Saturday, December 22, T. Max and the Peace Chor-US will once again perform "Why Do We Go to War," the work-in-progress that has grown out of the "End War Now" session. This time we're at the Cantab in Central Square, Cambridge, across the street from City Hall (and a couple blocks from the People's Republik, much closer to the subway). I have a solo number, a tune called "Ministry of Oil," but this time I'm not doing my guitar-strumming singer/songwriter set, just singing with the Chor-US.

Some of it will be changed around based on how it seemed to work (and where it didn't seem to work) last time, and a new song will be incorporated (assuming we can get it under our belts in rehearsal this week). Also we're adding some voices, some of whom are real good. After that T's going back to the drawing board for a while to figure out where it goes from here, which I believe will be in a more theatrical direction, but in any event this will be the last chance to see it for months.

Sa 12/22 $7 The Noise Holiday Occupation Party The Andrea Gillis Band (12); The Russians (11); T Max Peace Chor-Us (10); The Emily Grogan Band (9).

Emily Grogan and Andrea Gillis both sang on the original "End War Now" session, and Grogan sings with this incarnation of the Peace Chor-Us today. (She rocks. In addition to fronting her own band, she also plays with this remarkable quintet called HRT, a band of suburban moms of a certain age.) Dunno who the Russians are, but I'm sure I'll recognize some of them too.
