Dear Friends,
Sometimes it feels as if the political campaigning never ends. But, I think you would agree that politics has such a personal impact on our lives and we need to go in a new direction – both locally and nationally.
This weekend, I am hosting at my home a Barack Obama phone bank. I need your help to reach out to the voters in Brockton who supported my campaign, to thank them for their support, and to encourage them to vote for Obama in the primary on February 5.
I believe Obama is the presidential candidate with the ability to bring our divided country together, and to create a working majority for change at the national level. As of today, Obama tops the Democratic ticket with the most delegates, and I need your help to make certain February 5 – Super Tuesday – is a victory for change.
> What: Phone bank to drum up local support for Barack Obama > When: Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10am to 1pm; Sunday, Jan. 27 from 1pm to 4pm > Where: My home, 14 Clyde St, Brockton, MA – 508.333.5463
> RSVP > Bring your charged cell phone and good spirit! > Join the Brockton for Obama group
When Barack Obama ran for the US Senate, my family and I supported his campaign with a financial contribution. From a distance, we were struck by his sincerity and optimism. In 2006, I had the fortune of spending two hours with Obama, in a small room with 75 other young leaders in Massachusetts.
What my family and I witnessed from a distance a year or so earlier, I experienced in person. Obama, who had already become a political superstar, was so incredibly grounded, grateful, and genuine. We desperately need to change the direction of our country. And, we desperately need to change the cast of personalities to bring us that change. Barack Obama is that person.
I hope to see you this weekend. Bring your charged cell phone and good spirit. The Stewart family will take care of the rest.
As always, thank you.
