What is the latest word on Mayor Thomas Menino's plans to relocate Boston City Hall?

Mayor Menino talked about moving Boston City Hall out of that grotesque ediface in Government Center (aka Scolly Square), and relocate to an area in Southie overlooking Boston harbor. Is he insane? Granted, Boston City Hall is one of the ugliest buildings in America. I think it should be torn down, and a new city hall rebuilt on the same spot, and the entire sea of bricks replaced with somthing more user freindly.
In City Hall Plaza, you have the Green line, the Blue Line, and just down the street there is the Red line and the Ornage Line.
In southie (by the harbor), they have..the silver Line, that absurd bus service.
Why would Menino want to relocate City Hall, which is centrally located and easily accessable, to an area that is not as easy to reach?
Is he still pushing ahead with this plan?

First I've heard of that proposal. You're right, that building in a sea of bricks looks like hell, but a huge argument would probably be where would the money come from for such a move. As a taxpayer I would not be pleased, and would not support the move since the current ugly building is not that old.
