Lexington police are investigating four instances of spray painted swastikas that were discovered last week.
Three swastikas were painted on Winthrop Road: one was on a car belonging to a Jewish resident, and two were found on the sidewalk nearby. A fourth was painted on the exterior of Hit and Run sports on Marrett Road.
“They were four separate incidents, but we believe they were all related,” said Lt. Manuel Ferro of the Lexington Police Department. “It’s all under investigation right now.”

On May 22 in Arlington, someone slashed the front tire of a man’s car and used gold and purple spray paint to write homophobic slurs and a swastika on the vehicle, said Arlington Police Chief Fred Ryan. Ryan said it was likely an isolated incident and may have been perpetrated by the man’s ex-girlfriend, and the matter is under investigation.
