| Any Obama office on the North Shore yet? I would be happy |
|
to put in some time but cannot travel far. Salem? Lynn? Any other towns within a reasonable radius?
I need to do something to help. Since I was recently laid off and what little stock my husband left after his recent death has tanked, I am in a panic mode. What was there is now as illusion. If it goes any lower, I will, like many others, have nothing to show for all these years of being good citizens,
I am not a johnny come lately to the Obama campaign and have made contributions, first to Edwards and then to the party. My life has taken a drastic change since June, I feel like I must do something to help countless people like me keep from finding ourselves on the street with nothing. I have no money but I have a voice. I may not be able to heat my house and may freeze but I am willing to put up a fight about it.
We will all go down if we continue with this current path. Obama offers us hope. Mcsame offers us nothing but the same old, same old.
I'm afraid my remaining years are not going to be what my husband and I thought. I want to help assure that my children and grandchildren are safe from the same worries as we have.

| 1. There is a Democratic City Committee |

"store front" up and running in Beverly. From a recent e-mail(yesterday):
We are working hard on behalf of state legislative candidates in targeted races across the state. There are some great candidates running in some very close races in Massachusetts and they need our help. There will be a coordinated campaign phone bank on Wednesday, October 8th and Thursday, October 9th at the Beverly HQ at 236 Cabot Street starting at 6 PM each night. We will be making calls for Obama, Kerry and local candidates in competitive elections.
If you are interested, there is someone there during the day as well. I don't have an office phone number, and don't want to give out the cell # of the person who sent me the e-mail on this forum, but maybe you can get a # at Yellow.com of at 411.

| 2. Move On has a set up so you can call swing state voters from your home |
|
If you can talk on the phone while on your computer (ie no dial-up connection) you can get a list of voters, a script, etc through the Move On site. Also, on the mybarackobama site you can find events near you, including calling parties people have at their homes to get a bunch of folks together with their cell phones to make calls to voters.
