I just heard we're looking at 16 inches of snow in Boston. I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of this crap. :(

| 1. That's about the size of it. I'm going nuts with this winter. Be done |
|
with it. This is scheduled to hit tonight about ten and roar through like a lion. North of Boston, we're due anywhere from a foot to 18 inches, depending on what station you listen to.
I'm low on the plow/shovel list so I'll be on the couch for 2 days waiting for this to be cleaned out.
Enough!!!!

I hate winter as it is, and I'm having a real hard time dealing with this particular winter, which as you know has sucked royally. But I suppose the one good thing about my job being eliminated at the end of last year is that I don't have to go out in this shit.
How are you doing? It's been a while. :hi:

| 3. I'm doing OK except for the fact my 401K tanked. |
|
At the moment I'm down around 60% or so.
I got a call from a guy at VZ a few weeks ago asking me if I was interested in a short term consulting gig. I said, 'Yea, I can do 6 ~ 8 weeks.' The contract came in Friday and they're looking for this thing to go thru December. I checked SS and I can earn $14K before they start reducing the bucks. I need to do more research.
Been to any DU meetups lately?
And yes, it has been a long time since we talked. How are you doing? :hi:

| 4. Sadly, I don't think there have been any local DU meetups lately. |

Actually, not for a long time, which is pretty sad because we used to have the best meetups.
As for me, I've had better days. My job was eliminated at the end of the year so I'm back to my usual 21st century activity of looking for a job. I'm actually quite lost right now because I have no idea where the heck I'm going to find--and actually get--a job these days. I'm not eligible for unemployment, so right now I have no money coming in. Fortunately I still have some savings, but it's not going to last for a real long time. I took the test for a census job but haven't heard anything yet. I'm also spending way too much time sleeping. It's also getting close to a year since my mother died, so emotions are rising again.
That's great that you have an upcoming paying gig. I decided that if I don't find a job by the end of March, which is certainly likely, I may just get involved in some volunteer work so I can contribute somehow.
