Last winter Mr P had some serious lung issues after having a case of bronchitis that wouldn't go away.
After many lab tests, and a bronchoscopy and lung biopsy, it was discovered that he has sarcoidosis, either caused, or aggravated by, the bacteria found in turkey droppings (mycobacterium avium). Our yard used to be full of turkeys all day long. I'm talking flocks of 30 or more.
They're really cool and fun to watch, but they can be dangerous for people with existing lung conditions, so be careful...

Everyone was slowing down-they were on the side of the road feeding. They were frickin' HUGE!

| 6. I saw a lot of wild turkeys in Pelham, Mass, last week. |
|
I thought they were afraid to come so close to Route 202.. but they were there, along the road.
Turkeys like that must be on the rise.
