Does he really think he can beat Deval? If so, he's living in a dream world.

| 3. Actually many liberals find Deval a disappointment! They are not |
|
happy with the management of government, the cuts in local aid, and little to show in reform.
I am not supporting Cahill, but Deval needs a challenge from a smart guy, and I think Cahill fills that bill.

| 2. He is definately running for governor |
|
as a democrat.
I don't think he can win and giving up the rather easy re-election to treasurer he would have had seems unwise.

He's not going to beat Deval. However, he will take the votes of the disillusioned Dems away from Baker, causing Deval to win again. Then, Deval will appoint give him an appointment in his administration in a grand show of bipartisanship.
I wish Cahill would win though.

| 6. He'll also take votes away from Patrick. Your collusion scenario is much too risky for Patrick, so |
|
don't buy that he and Cahill have set things up this way.
Don't know why you woud want Cahill to win, either. By his own words during a TV interview, he often votes Republican and has often been uncomfortable with his designation as a Democrat because he so often disagrees with the Democrats' positions. I'd almost rather have a Republican win than a Blue Dog. At least then, Republicans get blamed for the results of Democratic positions.
What I really wish? That a progressive would primary Patrick, who, IMO, has done Massachusetts Democrats--and therefore Massachusetts--a real disservice with his Republican ways and his lackluster ways. Or that Patrick would do what his friend, Obama, asked Governor Paterson to do--not run.
