State sides with Brockton power plant in conservation dispute

BROCKTON —
The state Department of Environmental Protection has ruled in favor of the company behind a proposed power plant in its case before the city Conservation Commission.
The commission rejected the power plant last October. The company, Boston-based Advanced Power Services NA, appealed the decision to the DEP.

The commission is now appealing that ruling to a state court, Danielson said.

The project needs conservation approval because it would be built near wetlands, including the Salisbury River.
