High voter turnout expected at Brockton's West Jr. High
BROCKTON —
Even though city officials estimate the overall turnout in today's election to be at most 30 percent, the election warden at West Jr. High school says he's expecting closer to 50 or 60 percent from precinct 1B on the city's West side.
As of 4 p.m., Warden Jim Doucette said that 436 voters had shwon up, and he's expecting a total of around 800 by the time polls close at 8 p.m. today.
"This is always a well-attended polling place, but it was been busier than normal, and much busier than the primary," said Doucette.
