Brockton police bust biggest marijuana 'grow house' in city’s history

BROCKTON —

It took just a sniff to bust what police are calling the biggest marijuana “grow” house in Brockton’s history.

Police were on the hunt for a shooting suspect last week when things began to smell terribly wrong outside 388 Centre St.

“Right when you walked into the driveway, you could just smell it, and you knew,” Sgt. George Khoury said Sunday night, as authorities seized nearly 500 marijuana plants, dehumidifiers, air conditioning units and hydroponics and irrigation systems from the home.

Police estimated the street value of the marijuana at more than a half million dollars.
