I said, "It is clear to me that it's only a matter of time before we see oil on the beaches in Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Chatham, and so forth." She agreed, saying that the projections seem to be indicating that.

I asked her then if it might make sense to file criminal charges against the officers of BP if that scenario were to unfold.

She replied that she would be meeting this coming week with other Attorneys General, including the AGs from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. She said that they would be discussing their actions, in consultation with Eric Holder. And she added, if it came to that, she would not wait for the oil to hit Massachusetts beaches.
