4-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At Middleton Factory
Explosions Reported At Bostik Chemical Factory

MIDDLETON, Mass. -- Firefighters from several communities are at the scene of an explosion and fire at the Bostik Inc. chemical plant in Middleton.

State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan said the four-alarm fire broke out at the company’s factory at 211 Boston Road late Sunday.

Coan said crews were able to contain a small fire at the plant after an initial explosion.

He said fire crews are engaged in a Hazmat Tier 3 response, meaning workers are allowed to go inside the building.
